The Minnesota Chamber supports investment in the state’s transportation infrastructure for the efficient movement of people and goods wherever we are located. We are a mobile society. Minnesotans expect and depend on a statewide system of roads, bridges and transit to get us where we want to go on time and safely.
Sitting in Twin Cities traffic is annoying, and costly. Navigating bumpy roads is bothersome, and unsafe. Whether you live in Eagan and commute to work in Plymouth, or you live in Grand Rapids and are traveling to Minneapolis for a sports event - all Minnesotans are best served by strategic and sustained funding of a comprehensive, multimodal transportation system.
On average, 1.73 million passengers fly domestic routes each day simply by using their state-issued drivers license to board a plane. Imagine if you were unable to board a plane at MSP to fly 35 minutes to Chicago-Midway for a business meeting? Or take a week-long family vacation from MSP to Fort Myers for a reprieve from the cold Minnesota winter? Minnesota is only 1 of 2 states that has yet to pass a REAL ID law. Effective January 22, 2018, if you plan to fly - for business or leisure - and REAL ID hasn't passed, you'll need an alternate ID to fly.
Minnesota needs YOU! Contact your legislator and tell them to pass REAL ID now so you can get to where you need and want to go!
