Strong businesses, strong communities. Together, communities and businesses can partner to solve community problems and address community issues. Minnesota Business Gives can help enhance this mutual goal.

Businesses contribute to their local communities in countless ways. Minnesota Business Gives, a statewide program managed by the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce, is designed to motivate, educate and recognize local businesses for the important and significant contributions they make to their communities.

Most business owners have a desire to give back to their communities. We can help you build a giving and community involvement program that is right for your business, your employees and your community. This Web site will help you take a comprehensive look at your business giving and community involvement program. You'll learn how to benchmark your program, and then receive tips about creating and strengthening your program.

Minnesota Business Gives was created by Building Business Investment in Community, a project of the Minnesota Council on Foundations, the Minnesota Chamber, and 12 Minnesota business and philanthropic organizations. Research sponsored by BBIC sought to better understand the contributions and community involvement practices of the broader universe of businesses throughout Minnesota, with special focus on the ways in which small and medium-sized businesses contribute to their communities. The findings were used to develop the educational tools and strategies to encourage continued and expanded business giving and involvement.

The strength of our program is in the growing statewide network. To date, more than 30 local chambers of commerce are partners in local business gives programs. For information on how a business or a local chamber can participate in a Minnesota Business Gives program, contact Jackie Reis at jreis@mnchamber.com, (651) 292-4688.
