ELECTIONS/ETHICS POLICY

More and more people are questioning the legislative process itself following the political gridlock in recent years. Businesses also remain concerned that campaign finance laws be fair and equitable to all participants.

2011 Legislative Priorities

We support drawing lines for legislative redistricting by an independent commission. Minnesota should adopt a system that works to more effectively redraw district lines every 10 years to ensure that the criteria reflect the state population's growth and mobility.

We will protect the First Amendment right of corporations to make independent expenditures in election campaigns as ruled by the U.S. Supreme Court and reaffirmed by bipartisan state legislation in 2010.
