“Our organization has the special capability to bring employers together to solve problems. While no one has all of the answers to the serious problems of racial inequity and injustice that are so evident in Minnesota, one thing we know at the Chamber is how to help Minnesota businesses. We have been doing it for over a hundred years, finding success in large and small ways.

We will do our part to address racial inequities in our work with policy makers by addressing racial disparities in education, employment practices, and access to capital. Diversity and inclusion are a pillar of the Chamber’s strategic plan, focusing on designing products and services to support and engage minority-owned businesses, organizations and business leaders. Having the Chamber seek to end disparities and provide meaningful assistance to minority-owned businesses has many societal and economic benefits for Minnesota.

In response to the tragic death of George Floyd, we created Restoration and Recovery Resources designed to leverage Chamber member expertise, services and donations to provide direct support to the small businesses in Minneapolis and St. Paul that were damaged during the time of unrest. These businesses are integral to the fabric of these local communities and through our efforts, we hope to help them rebuild and restore important community services and jobs. Read more about the Restoration and Recovery Resources below.”

Chamber President Doug Loon

About Restoration and Recovery Resources

The recent business devastation in Minneapolis and St. Paul, as well as the continued struggles related to COVID-19, have pushed many Minnesota businesses to the brink. Thankfully, the Minnesota business community is one that helps those in need.

In response to the damage and loss of businesses in Minneapolis and St. Paul and COVID-19, the Chamber is working to create a network of expertise, services and volunteer time to help businesses who need it most. The Chamber created a database of member companies willing to donate their products and services, free of charge, to help struggling businesses get back on their feet. Contact Jennifer Byers if you're a business looking to access one of the resources listed below.
