At the Minnesota Chamber's recent Chamber Day at the Capitol, key legislators discussed many of the policy issues facing the business community, including tax increases, paid leave mandates and the cost of doing business.

The business community plays a leadership role in fostering inclusive workplaces and supporting diverse communities. It extends beyond the corporate community and the Twin Cities, and the Minnesota Chamber Foundation is leading a statewide effort to assist businesses of all sizes and locations to achieve our goal of Minnesota being the most inclusive state in the country.

Consider this scenario: one of your employees is driving to a job site, and they hit a car with multiple occupants who all get seriously injured. Your company could be held liable for the occupants’ medical costs, loss of wages, and additional costs – all of which could add up to a potentially devastating expense.

The Grow Minnesota! program was founded in 2003 on a simple premise: chambers of commerce and economic development organizations can advance Minnesota’s economy by proactively connecting businesses to resources to grow and expand in the state. This has remained Grow Minnesota!’s core mission for nearly twenty years.

The Minnesota Chamber of Commerce’s Women in Business series continued with an event focused on the impact of the potential marijuana legislation currently being talked about at the Capitol, which culminated in a panel with experts covering a wide breadth of issues, including legal ramifications, worker’s comp, and a medical perspective.

February is Black History Month throughout the country, a time to celebrate the accomplishments, achievements and vast contributions of African Americans throughout the nation's history. To commemorate Black History Month, the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal highlighted 200 Black leaders in the Twin Cities region. Many of the distinguished leaders are leaders in the business community and many are part of Minnesota Chamber of Commerce member organizations.
