Alex joined Energy Smart in December 2022. Alex helps businesses improve their energy efficiency and operating costs by identifying opportunities for rebates, grants, and operational refinement.
Prior to Energy Smart, he worked at People’s Food Co-op and Seward Community Co-op, two companies committed so building a more sustainable local food economy. Alex also has experience as a food producer: raising pastured poultry, laying hens, rabbits, and growing produce and mushrooms in Southern Minnesota and managing urban gardens and an aquaponics system. He graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College with a BA in Environmental Studies in 2013.
Outside of work, Alex enjoys quality time with his dogs, cooking and road trips with his wife, Aly.
